It’s Possible at Perry Public Schools
For years, Perry Public Schools recognized the challenges of our elementary school being at capacity, with waiting lists for both our infant/toddler program as well as our preschool program. As part of our strategic plan process, we completed building audits and realized that, in order to serve our school community best we must reorganize and realign our buildings with the needs and demands of our district.
Our Learner-First Realignment not only optimizes our existing learning space but creates a sense of smaller communities within our buildings. This unique learning experience will allow our students to build closer relationships and have a true sense of community. Furthermore, this realignment strategy allows our expert teachers to form learning communities within the buildings in order to provide more specialized and personalized instruction.
In addition, with bond improvements including the livestock barn, updates to the track and the football field lighting, mechanical, flooring, and parking lot replacements, along with the new playground at the elementary made possible by sinking funds, we have a unique opportunity to make improvements to our students' educational experiences across the district, and also to maximize our impact by more effectively using the current space available.
Learner-First Realignment - Coming Fall 2024
The realigned Perry Early Learning Center for infant child-care through 2nd grade provides a needed focus on our young learners and provides an exceptional introduction to the school journey.
The Perry Upper Elementary will house 3rd - 6th grade learners who are beginning to prepare for secondary-level education.
The Perry Secondary School, future home to our 7th - 12th graders, will group students in specific grade bands to create a sense of community and belonging while honoring their developmental needs.
At Perry Public Schools, it’s possible through our commitment to expertise in teaching and the belief that all students will thrive with an exceptional educational journey.
