Xello- Career Exploration
All students seventh through twelfth grade, in Michigan, are required to create and maintain an Educational Development Plan (EDP). EDP’s are part of a larger, more comprehensive academic and career planning process. At Perry Middle School, we have the advantage of using a great tool called Xello (formally Career Cruising). This tool allows students to start developing their EDP’s by take quizzes about their interests and be matched with over forty different career choices. The students then can research the careers and even listen to interviews of men and women that tell them about what they do, along with the skills and training needed. Students also have the opportunity to investigate colleges and universities that have programs that match their interests. All students in 7th and 8th grade have a student account and EDP on Xello. Our Guidance Counselor, Mr. Dietz, teaches a four day career exploration unit for 7th and 8th grade students.
When students receive their account login information, We invite you to explore the Xello website with your child and ask them to show you what they are working on in class.
