The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) replaced the MEAP test a couple years ago, and is given in the spring. This test is fully online and assesses students in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. At the middle school, student in 5th and 8th grade take the ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies assessments, while 6th and 7th grade students take ELA and Math only.

5th and 8th grade students will take the M-Step between April 9 and May 4.

6th and 7th grade students will take the M-Step between April 30 and May 25.  

Prior to the testing window, we have students practice with the online test tools and practice sample questions from the M-Step website.Parents are welcome to check out the sample questions from the MStep here. Click on the grade level, then subject area. Log-in using the login information provided on screen, then follow the on screen instructions.
